The Red Island - Stones of Madagascar

Madagascar is the world’s second largest island country - earning its nickname “The Red Island” from its land - rich in iron oxides. This tortured soil contains very few nutrients yet has succeeded in producing priceless treasures. Every corner of the world sources some of their gemstones from Madagascar, due to the high demand.

Take a peek at our latest vlog with Ricky from Dakota Stones to see and hear all about our line of products from this beautiful island rich in gemstones!

Thanks Ricky! (and now I know how to pronounce amazonite correctly!)

loved the video! It’s really nice to see the stones in movement. It really does seem like the stones/ gems from Madagascar are more vibrant and vivid than most others. Also knowing you care about where you source your products is a plus for me. I hate to think that others are harming the environment for a rock, basically 😕 and that island has so very many animals and plants found nowhere else in the planet, it needs to be cared for and treasured. I’m anxious to see and hopefully but some of these gorgeous new beads!

Loved you video Rickey. I like hearing the history of the different areas that the stones come from. I also really liked getting a special look at the stones that you just got in. Many times a still picture just doesn’t do the stone justice. I would enjoy more of these videos.
