Glacierite, also known as Blue Ice Glacierite or Blue Ice Nakaurite, is a rare, newly discovered mineral from Indonesia that is an accidental byproduct of industrial smelting and is believed to be leftover slate from a gold mine. It is a hard ceramic in the Beta-Aluminate family, with a chemical composition of sodium aluminum oxide. Glacierite has a beautiful blue color that comes from trace amounts of cobalt and vanadium. Some believe that Glacierite can inspire positive energy flow, reinvigorate the spirit, and awaken the senses.
