Selenite Stone Glossary

Selenite is a transparent to translucent variety of gypsum, valued for its ethereal, pearly luster and striated crystal structure. Dakota Stones offers selenite beads and shapes that are lightweight and visually striking, making them suitable for statement jewelry and accent pieces. Due to its softness, selenite is best used in designs that minimize abrasion and impact. Its natural clarity and sheen are prized, but designers should be aware of its sensitivity to moisture and chemicals.
