Andalusite 3-4mm Faceted Rondelle - 15-16 Inch
Andalusite is a fascinating aluminum silicate mineral known for its strong pleochroism—the ability to display multiple colors from different angles. Depending on the light and cut, these faceted rondelles can flash shades of green, brown, gold, and even pink. Due to its complex crystal structure and limited rough suitable for cutting, Andalusite is increasingly rare to find in bead form, making these strands a special find for designers who want something truly unique.
Historically, Andalusite was first discovered in the Andalusia region of Spain, though significant deposits have since been found in Brazil and Sri Lanka. It was once mistaken for other gemstones like tourmaline due to its color-shifting nature, but gemologists eventually gave it its own spotlight. Its durability and natural sparkle have made it a long-standing favorite in both decorative and spiritual uses.
Metaphysically, Andalusite is known as a stone of clarity and protection, said to help its wearer see different perspectives. It’s also believed to ground emotional energy and bring balance during times of transition.
Note – Due to the unique hand-made manufacturing process of these beads, the strand length, bead measurements, colors, and beads per strand counts may vary slightly from what is listed.
