Genuine turquoise, stabilized to last
This is real Hubei turquoise — the classic robin's-egg blue, mined in China's Hubei province, the source that sets the benchmark for consistent color. Turquoise is naturally soft and porous, so nearly all turquoise on the market (ours included) is stabilized: a clear resin is drawn into the stone to harden it and lock the color in. That's not dye and it's not a fake — it's the standard step that lets genuine turquoise survive being worn. What you're getting is true turquoise, not dyed howlite or a reconstituted composite.
Read the matrix
The brown and black webbing running through each bead is the matrix — the host rock the turquoise formed in — and it's natural. It's also how you read real turquoise: the pattern is irregular and different on every bead, where imitations tend to look uniform or printed. Some designers prize a clean, even blue; others want bold matrix. Both are here, and every strand is matched so the beads work together.
Wear it with care
Turquoise is a softer stone (Mohs 5–6), so treat it gently: keep it away from perfume, lotion, and household cleaners, never use ultrasonic or steam, and wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Remove it before swimming or the gym. It's stocked in rounds, rondelles, heishi, nuggets, and faceted cuts from 3–4mm through 10mm. Hubei turquoise pairs naturally with lapis, amazonite, and apatite.

Is Hubei turquoise real turquoise?
Yes. Hubei turquoise is genuine natural turquoise mined in Hubei province, China — one of the most important and consistent turquoise sources in the world. It is not howlite, magnesite, or a dyed imitation. Like nearly all turquoise sold today it is stabilized (see below), but the stone itself is true turquoise. -
What does “stabilized” mean, and is it the same as dyed?
Stabilizing draws a clear resin into the stone to harden it and seal its natural color. Turquoise is naturally soft and porous, so stabilization is the industry-standard way to make it durable enough for daily jewelry. It is not dye — no color is added — and it is completely different from reconstituted or “block” turquoise, which is ground turquoise powder bonded with filler. Is the brown and black webbing natural?
