Faceted Shapes
Faceted shapes are gemstone beads cut with flat, polished planes across a sculpted profile, so the outline gives a strand its structure and the facets give it sparkle. This collection gathers the fancy faceted cuts: swirl ovals and rice beads, faceted and puff squares and six-point star beads at 6–8mm, ovals, rectangles and triangle-cut puff ovals around 8x10mm, and marquise beads at the statement size of 10x16mm. Every option comes as a 15–16 inch strand.
More than 30 stones are cut this way — amethyst, labradorite, lapis, garnet, aquamarine, carnelian, tiger eye, sodalite, amazonite, peach moonstone and the full quartz family among them. Use marquise and rectangles as centerpieces, rice beads and swirl ovals for texture, and squares, stars and triangle-cut puff ovals as accents — mixing one faceted shape into smooth rounds keeps the sparkle looking deliberate.

Frequently asked questions
-
What makes these different from plain faceted round beads?
Every bead here is a fancy faceted shape rather than a plain round — a sculpted profile (swirl oval, rice, puff square, six-point star, marquise, rectangle, triangle-cut puff oval, oval or free form) with flat cut planes across it. The silhouette gives the strand its structure and the facets throw the light, so a single strand can carry a design on its own instead of just spacing between focals. -
What shapes and sizes are in this collection?
Swirl ovals and rice beads run 7x8mm; faceted and puff squares and star beads are 6–8mm; ovals, rectangles and triangle-cut puff ovals are around 8x10mm; free-form rectangles are 9x13mm; and marquise beads are the statement size at 10x16mm. Every option is a 15–16 inch strand. -
What stones come in these faceted shapes?
More than 30, including amethyst, labradorite, lapis, garnet, aquamarine, carnelian, citrine, tiger eye, sodalite, amazonite, peach moonstone, obsidian and blue apatite, plus the full quartz family — crystal, smoky, rose, strawberry, rutilated and hematoid. Harder, fine-grained stones dominate because they hold a crisp facet edge. -
Are the colors natural, or are any treated?
Most are natural stones, so color and pattern shift from bead to bead — that variation is the material, not a defect. Where a color is enhanced we say so in the product title, like our Magnesite (Dyed) Turquoise, and more tightly matched strands are marked "A Grade." Read the title and you'll always know what you're getting. -
How do I use faceted shapes in a design, and how do I care for them?
Use marquise and rectangles as centerpieces, rice beads and swirl ovals for texture along a strand, and squares, stars and triangle-cut puff ovals as accents — mixing one faceted shape into smooth rounds keeps the sparkle looking deliberate. Hardness ranges from softer, dyed pieces like magnesite and howlite (around Mohs 3.5) up to garnet and quartz (7–7.5), so wipe beads with a soft cloth and keep softer or color-treated strands away from water and chemicals.
