Egyptian Turquoise 6x8mm Barrel - 15-16 Inch
Egyptian Turquoise is one of the oldest known sources of turquoise, historically mined in the Sinai region for thousands of years and prized since ancient times for its vivid color and strength. For many years, mining rights were controlled by a single family, and much of the material was tied up by one company — limiting availability in the open market. Authentic Egyptian Turquoise remains difficult to source, especially in bead form.
This material is known for its rich sky blue to blue-green color and bold, high-contrast matrix in shades of brown, charcoal, and black. The natural webbing and veining create distinctive patterns in every bead, giving designers a look that feels both historic and strikingly modern. With a hardness of approximately 5–6 on the Mohs scale, it is relatively durable for turquoise and well suited for carefully crafted jewelry.
Dakota Stones offers top-grade Egyptian Turquoise selected for strong color saturation, attractive matrix patterns, and overall material stability. Supply is limited and not always guaranteed — making this a unique addition to any turquoise collection.
