Shiva Eye is a part of the shell of the Turban Snail which naturally detaches near the end of the snail’s life and is found on the seabed in waters of Thailand and Indonesia. Composed of calcium carbonate, Shiva Eye is opaque and usually white or off-white. It may occur with swirls of golden brown or black, and these swirls often form in a perfect spiral. It is named for the third eye in the forehead of the Hindu god Shiva.
